Meet your coach

Hello, my name is Carol Huang, and I am the founder of Start with the Heart | 心启点.
My life’s work has been dedicated to education, parenting, and community building. Over the years, I have served as a teacher, school director, inclusive recreation instructor, Child and Youth Worker, and community facilitator.

In China, I was honored with:

  • The National Award for Excellent Teacher (全国优秀教师称号)

  • The Shanghai Model Worker Award (上海市劳动模范)

  • The National Psychological Counselor Certificate (国家二级心理咨询师资格证)

    These recognitions reflect my deep commitment to education and family well-being.

Distinctions

Since moving to Canada in 2012, I have embarked on a new journey — applying my experience in education and counseling to serve families in a multicultural context.

Here in Ottawa, I have worked with children with special needs, supported newcomer families, and trained as a certified Virtues Project™ Facilitator.

As a parent myself, I understand both the struggles and the joys of raising children.

These lived experiences, combined with my professional training and cross-cultural journey, have shaped my vision to accompany parents and youth with compassion, clarity, and practical tools.

Through Start with the Heart | 心启点,
I support families in building deeper connections, nurturing resilience, and discovering shared purpose.

Whether it is helping parents cultivate love and respect in daily interactions or guiding newcomer youth through the challenges of integration and self-discovery, my goal is the same: to empower every family to start with the heart and grow from there.
